Fashion Friday: Wedding World glamour and style

Happy Friday! It's time to get excited about the South West's largest and most glamorous wedding fair -- Wedding World -- taking place at the prestigious Bristol Marriott Royal Hotel on Sunday 10th January between 10.30am and 4pm. This is where you'll meet the region's most talented people, who can help you create your wedding day dream.

Top bridal boutiques from the West Country region will be on hand to discuss the latest trends for 2016 and showcase their latest designer collections on the catwalk. A highlight of the day, the two fabulous fashion shows (scheduled for 12.30pm and 3pm) will feature a selection of stunning dresses -- from glamorous and romantic pieces to classic and vintage designs for brides-to-be and their bridal parties. 

Beautifully accessorised, each style will help you imagine the kind of look you'd like for your ceremony. Bridesmaids and flower girl outfits in an array of colours and designs will also feature in the Wedding World show. Similarly, for the grooms and best men, there will be inspiration from high street names and luxurious brands, which will also feature on the catwalk. 

In addition, meet over 65 wedding suppliers displaying their stunning work and find out some great planning tips. Visitors will be entertained with live performances from singer Lewis Hutton, harpist Claire Dibble, dance group A.Y. Dance,  and the brilliant caricaturist Ian Lloyd.

Wedding dresses: decades of showstopping gowns

For serious bridal inspiration as well as dress envy, we've been avidly following the New York Bridal Week shows this week, where designers from around the world showcased their most-anticipated 2016 collections.

With each collection unique and different from the next, designers celebrated the elegance and glamour of bridal fashion - from Alon Livne's swan-motif gowns to chic cuts at J Mendel and the drama of Vera Wang's designs. 

Looking back at memorable designs from some of the most famous weddings in history, we admire the stunning dresses worn by Grace Kelly, Kate Middleton, Princess Diana and Kate Moss, each beautifully capturing the bride's personality and unique fashion sense, as outlined in the Iconic Wedding Dresses infographic created by Vashi.

Front row at The West of England Wedding Show

With only two weeks to go till The West of England Wedding Show, it's time to get your bridesmaids together and arrange your visit to the event, which takes place at UWE Bristol, on Sunday 11 October (10am-4.30pm). 

There's nothing like a wedding fair to get you all excited about multi-tiered wedding cakes, vibrant seasonal blossoms, colour schemes and intricate stationery from over 100 of the region's top bridal specialists. 

A key part of the West of England Wedding Show are the fashion shows running at 11am, 1pm and 3pm. Fashion Week may be moving from London to Milan and Paris, but here in the South West bridal boutiques are showcasing their bridal designs in one place - the UWE catwalk!  

Bridal designers never cease to impress us with trendy details we all adore - unique necklines, cut out flowers and multi layers of delicate fabrics. Indeed, the new 2016 styles will appeal to classic, modern and romantic brides alike as many designs feature beautiful lace and floral embellishments, illusion bodices and skirts in sheer layers.

Getting married soon? Wedding World has everything covered! Brides, take note of this upcoming event taking place on Sunday 20 September at the Marriott Royal, College Green Bristol between 10.30 am and 4pm.

Highlights from London Bridal Fashion Week

The debut edition of London Bridal Fashion Week (LBfw) may be over, but here at West Weddings we're still swooning over the gorgeous gowns and whimsical designs unveiled from the 2016 collections. The highly anticipated event, hosted by London's Old Billingsgate during 17-19 May, took the bridal world by storm as it unveiled a fine selection of bridal designers.

With names including Christine Dando, Wendy Makin Couture, BellaDonna Bridal, Rembo Styling, Aya Couture, Demetrios and Ellis Bridals, you'll have plenty of ideas and inspiration to get you thinking about the right style for your big day.
