Make a special 'marque' with your wedding day

After sharing Sarah's success story yesterday of planning a gorgeous (and affordable) wedding staged in a marquee in her parents' back garden - we wanted to put some practical tools in the hands of brides-to-be who want to investigate this lovely venue option.

With predictions (fingers crossed!) of a warm June and (gasp!) even warmer weather in the later summer - this might be the year for outdoor weddings. But to protect your guests against any less-than-desirable turns of the weather, a marquee is the way to go.

Thankfully, we have County Marquees on hand - a Chepstow-based marquee hire firm that offer unique venues for weddings and other special events. Their argument is that hiring a marquee offers better value than a more traditional reception location - and they're hosting a Spring Viewing Weekend in April to persuade you likewise.

Between Friday the 5th to Sunday the 7th of April, from 9am-5pm, marquees will be on display fully styled for a wedding - giving you a realistic idea of the potential a marquee might offer. On top of that, florists, photographers and event planners will be there to discuss event requirements, and caterers will be on hand providing tasty samples.

"Finding a venue you're happy with for your special occasion is a difficult task, and many people don't consider the idea of an outdoor event," says Stuart Williams, Managing Director at County Marquees.

"...[T]he beauty of hiring a marquee is that it can be completely tailored to suit your needs and tastes. The right marquee can turn a great occasion into a really memorable one."

Pre-bookable 30-minute time slots are also available on the day for anyone wishing to talk through their event requirements in more detail with an event planner, as well as see the latest equipment, styles and designs to suit personal tastes.

To book, please phone 01291 629 377. The Spring Viewing Event will be held at Woodlands, Sedbury Park, Chepstow, NP16 7EY.
